Mother Teresa reminds us of the power of connection. Write a heartfelt letter to someone you care about today, spreading joy and gratitude through your words.

Mother Teresa, born Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu on August 26, 1910, in Skopje, Macedonia, was a Roman Catholic nun and missionary who dedicated her life to serving the poorest of the poor. At the age of 18, she joined the Sisters of Loreto in Ireland and soon after was sent to India, where she spent the majority of her life.

In 1950, she founded the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata (Calcutta), an order devoted to helping those in dire need, including the sick, orphaned, and dying. Her work earned her global recognition and numerous awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.

Mother Teresa’s approach was marked by profound compassion and simplicity. She emphasized the importance of loving and caring for the marginalized and destitute, famously stating, “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”

Despite facing criticism and challenges, she remained steadfast in her mission until her death on September 5, 1997. Mother Teresa was canonized as Saint Teresa of Calcutta by the Catholic Church in 2016, continuing to inspire millions with her legacy of selfless service and charity.
